The Porsche 911 GT2 (997) has a towing capacity of 3,500 lb.

NO WAY THAT'S AMAZING

Indeed. I wonder how many people have tried it out.

I'm sure K-roll will have the opportunity soon enough.

True.

It can tow as much as my Jeep...
I don't know whether to be impressed, or cry about it.

That's incredible. Is it even possible to have a hitch attached?

*Adjusts glasses* Eh?
![]() 10/13/2014 at 12:15 |

Haha. That's awesome.

I'm sure. I've seen guys with GT-Rs and GTs have hitches installed.

Yup. I couldn't believe it either.

This is pretty much my favorite photo of all time.

I would tow my GT2RS with my GT2.

wow, attach a small trailer to it and tow track wheels/extra tires. Very cool!
![]() 10/13/2014 at 12:34 |

Makes sense, Germans love towing shit. Most likely for a glider or trailer for IKEA trips.
![]() 10/13/2014 at 12:37 |
|
They don't have engines sticking out the back though which might cause difficulty.

I do this with my Cobalt... Little trailer, just has space for 4 wheels/tires and a tool box.
![]() 10/13/2014 at 12:57 |

There's photos of 911s who tow trailers with track wheel/tires on them floating around, so it totally is possible.

Ballers among ballers use that figure. Legends

It's a good idea, no need to have to try to squeeze everything into the trunk/backseat.

10/10 would daily tow.

All I can say is wow.

Is this real life?
![]() 10/13/2014 at 16:57 |

Seemingly so. Porsche don't actually recommend towing with a 911 but nonetheless people do.

Makes for a great photo. Guessing he won't list that in the For Sale ad.

Well, that is pretty damn surprising. I mean, I'm not surprised it has that tow rating in Europe, just that they haven't down rated it to between 0-1,000 lbs for America like everyone else.
![]() 10/13/2014 at 19:39 |
|
Why would they down rate it for the U.S.? If it tows 3,500 lb. in Europe, it tows 3,500 lb. in the U.S.

All automakers publish lower tow ratings in the US than they do overseas. Mainly for liability reasons. Well, nearly all. We know know Porsche apparently doesn't.

Oh. Interesting.
